Vlog: Learning Centre ideas

Bon été! Happy summer! I am having a pretty good summer, but I'm still working hard trying to prepare (as much as one can) for the new school year! I thought that I would make a little vlog about the learning centres I've prepared for the new year. The learning centres that I create are self-contained in folders so they are very portable, and have no set up time. They are handy if you are on a cart.

Also, I started laminiating my centres so that students can use dry erase markers and then take pictures of their work for their online portfolios. That way I don't have to make copies or worry about wasting paper. They do take a bit of prep for printing and laminating, but I do that at home! So its a pretty cheap way of making sure that I have some great activities that are fun, useful and not just "busy work."

If you are interested in some of the files I collected to make my centres, please let me know, and I will create a link for you to use the documents I created.

  1. Bonjour! I am a new FSL core teacher. I love your ideas on your website and am really interested in your learning centres. The background music was a little too loud and I missed a little about what you said. I would love to see some of your files for the centres if you don't mind sharing.

    Thanks a bunch!

  3. No problem! I will do a post with links to my files in the near future. Right now I'm getting ready for the OMLTA conference in Alliston.

  4. I'm also interested in your learning centres! I attended your session at the OMLTA conference and found it to be so inspiring. As a relatively new teacher, I came out with so many tips and new ideas to try. I used to be afraid of inquiry in the core classroom, but I'm actually looking forward to trying it out now.

Thank you so much for being so willing to share your hard work with so many other teachers :)

  6. I teach Core French at a high school and am looking for ways to engage the students and "freshen up" how I teach French! I teach 9, 10 and an 11/12 split. With the new curriculum I am a bit foggy as to how to do this. I'd love to be able to see some of your resources! HELP!
